Catalog of the 3rd Annual International Competition for Caricature & Satirical Portrait “Caricatunis- Egypt 2022”

ANNUAL INTERNATIONAL COMPETITION FOR CARICATURE & SATIRICAL PORTRAIT

The Caricature Museum Fayoum lies in Tunis, a small oasis village just west of Cairo. The Museum was founded in 2009 and is the first of its kind in Africa and the Middle East.

Fayoum Art Center, which hosts the Museum, organizes CARICATUNIS an annual competition for cartoons and satirical portraits. Every year in late October the Center holds an event bringing many cartoon artists and fans together to celebrate this art form. The Outcomes from artists from all over the world are shown and Prizes are awarded. A carefully selected international jury awards a prize, a public choice prize goes to the artwork that received the most votes on social media platforms, for both the cartoon and satirical portrait categories.

CARICATUNIS is an annual competition organized by the Fayoum Art Center under the auspice of the Ministry of Culture.
