Sudan has been characterized by major protests after military coup plotters took power in 2021. Since 15 April, there have been bloody battles between government forces and the paramilitary group RSF. The parties agree to extend the ceasefire until 30 April.

At least 420 people have been killed and 3,700 wounded since fighting in Sudan between the paramilitary group RSF and the Sudanese army began last Saturday, according to figures from the World Health Organization (WHO) on Friday.

The real figures may be much higher.

Several countries have now carried out the evacuation of their diplomats and nationals in the country.
